No Limitations was established in July 2014 for the betterment of the lives of those in Central Texas who live with developmental and/or physical challenges and their families. No Limitations sought to give these individuals the opportunity to participate in team sports, while giving their families the pleasure of sharing in their joy, accomplishments, and growth.
No Limitations developed and presented a soccer program in which athletes participated in an environment structured to each individual’s abilities. That soccer season was so successful, the program grew and evolved into much more than a soccer league. Basketball was added, as well as flag football and cheer-leading. And it didn’t stop with sports. Troop No Limitations started, then Cub Scout Packability.
Started as a soccer league, at the request of then pastor of Central United Methodist Church of Waco Brad Britain, the inaugural soccer season consisted of 68 players on 12 teams (six inside the gym,6 outside on the soccer fields). The church offered its facilities and equipment free of charge, and a member made a sizable donation to ensure each child could play free of charge.
No Limitations has become a community of families supporting one another. An online support group formed where families share stories and lift one another on the more difficult days. They even swap clothes and equipment when one child outgrows something and another can benefit from it.
